As promised, SK Gaming have just released their video of their world-first kill of Kil'jaeden. They call this fight "all about absolute perfection in terms of execution," and "definitely the hardest boss ever made and an impressive final boss." Of course, this video contains full spoilers for the KJ fight.

And since people are always curious, the music used in the video is, according to SK:

* Airbase - Ocean Realm
* Alex M.O.R.P.H. - Walk the Edge (B2B Woody Van Eyden Mix)

Paladin takes down Onyxia Date: 31.05.2008 12:11

The Druid who Soloed Onyxia seems to have become the Shot Heard Around the World. A few posts on the Official Forums have discussed the feat. It will be interesting to see if other classes step-up to claim solo Onyxia-credit in the next few weeks.

Karazhan 5/13: The Big Bad Wolf Date: 31.05.2008 02:37

The Big Bad Wolf is a worgen boss in the Opera House in Karazhan.

Generally only one tank is needed. A warrior, protection paladin or feral druid can fulfill the role, but warriors have an advantage due to berserker rage. Ranged DPS classes can continuously damage the wolf provided that the tank does not lose aggro. They can continue damaging while the wolf is chasing Little Red Riding Hood. Melee DPS classes have to be more careful due to the fear. However, any damage caused while the Big Bad Wolf is chasing someone will add to his threat list, regardless of your inability to pull aggro during that time.

All non-melee classes (ranged DPS and healing) should stand close together in a corner about 1/3-1/2 the stage length from the wolf being tanked on the adjacent wall. When the wolf casts the Red Riding Hood debuff, the affected person needs to run around the perimeter of the stage. Do not touch or hug the wall because it will slow down your running speed, but stay very close to it. The wolf should be a short distance behind you at all times, but out of melee range. After running about 1.5 times around the stage, the debuff will wear off and the wolf will most likely run back to the tank as long as sufficient aggro was generated.

Karazhan 4/13: Romulo & Julianne Date: 27.05.2008 19:49

Romulo and Julianne is an event in the Opera House in Karazhan. It is an homage to Romeo and Juliet.

Fighting Romulo and Julianne is a very intensive fight. In phase one, the raid fights Julianne, who primarily casts spells, in phase two the raid fights Romulo, who only does melee, and in phase three the raid fights them both.

Karazhan 3/13: Maiden of Virtue Date: 24.05.2008 19:07

The Maiden of Virtue is a Titan-like Boss in the Guest Chambers wing of Karazhan. She bears a modeling resemblance to Ironaya of Uldaman. She is, ironically, being the Maiden of Virtue, put behind the rooms full of ladies of the night. The Maiden is optional; it is not necessary to kill her in order to reach other bosses.

Watch out for the next Karazhan Episode "Karazhan 4/13: Romulo & Julianne".

Karazhan 2/13: Moroes, the Tower Steward Date: 23.05.2008 13:02
News Author: Valezka

In The Last Guardian, Moroes was described as Medivh's castellan, or personal house servant. He was an oddly thin man, ghostly in appearance, who wore horse blinders over his eyes in order to escape the wandering visions that plagued Medivh's tower. He described to Khadgar (who had traveled from Dalaran to serve as Medivh's apprentice) how he had seen a vision of him breaking one of Cook's crystal dishes and - despite trying to avoid doing so - ended up shattering it anyway; he wore the blinders until the day he died. He was killed by Medivh in the final stages of his madness, and is now buried beside his master and Cook outside of Karazhan.

Moroes has been resurrected by the new master of Karazhan. He is one of the first bosses encountered by adventurers. He has been revived as an undead and wields two wicked daggers when attacking. He seems to have retained much of his personality during life.

The party he "holds" in the tower's Banquet Hall includes ghosts of relatives of Darkshire noblemen as guests. Names of all of the NPCs in the Hall, including Ebonlocke who refuses to take part in the festivities, can be found as names of notable citizens of the Duskwood town.

Karazhan 1/13: Midnight & Attumen the Huntsman Date: 22.05.2008 12:17
News Author: Valezka

Midnight is Combat Attumen the Huntsman's personal mount. She is known as one of the (if not the) fastest and strongest existing horses. She is a neutral boss in Karazhan and attacking her starts the Attumen encounter.

If this horse is put in danger, Attumen will rush to defend and destroy the attackers. As the first and easiest boss in Karazhan, he is considered a gear check for any adventurers who wish to delve deeper into Karazhan. Attumen is optional; it is not necessary to kill him in order to progress to the later bosses.

Watch out for the next Karazhan Episode "Karazhan 2/13: Moroes, the Tower Steward".
I'll try and post a Guide for each in the same way like this one.

To be or not to be ! Date: 18.05.2008 06:55

good morning fellow visitors,

its pretty early but i'm up ready for some newswriting (did i mention the last thunderstorm kept me awake the whole night? no? *sigh*)

first of all we're currently inactive. surprise surprise, we're inactive for a few months i know. anyway, in our secret world-overtaking private channel we're chatting around about a comeback, even the stupid and lame ut3 players (i.e. me) are planning to get back in the old ut99 shoes.

why? when? how?

its just a shame that ut3 wasn't the next generation ut99 we all were waiting for, so actually my only activity is just monitoring stuff and that everything runs correctly and something like that. as you could imagine it's boring like hell. after inventing the "you-can-add-yourself-to-the-topic-method", a few people signed up and you won't believe it, they still want to play our beloved 9-years old game ;]

its just a bad timing for getting active because the weather is nice (atm it's not) and nobody likes to spend their time behind the screen, at least i dont really want to play when its 30° out there. after a chat with NiNa^, Banez, Alexia and some more we're just playing around with the idea returning to the ut99 active drama scene.

we will probably start again with some 2on2 ictf zp officials, the same way we did all the years before pushing up to an 5ish mixed team. applications are now open if you're interested for a spot in aXs-Gaming.

information about the wow webby will follow soon, Escavienne will take care about that.
we're also again having a few chats about an increasement for our server to secure a more stable bnc hosting. we just managed to update it a few days ago with the newest ssl security patch + a new antispam system for the email accounts !

have a nice day

The Death Knight Class revealed Date: 10.05.2008 14:16

Via Gamespy and Worldofwar.net, we finally have a good idea of what rolling a Death Knight will be like. A lot of the rumors seem to have panned out, but others have not. All I know is that at this point, I am full speed ahead to make a Death Knight my new main come WoTLK. There's a lot of meaty info to dig into, so let's get to it after the break.

Creation and initial play:
  • Death Knights will start in a floating citadel similar to Naxxramas at level 55, and go through a series of quests that will establish their story and background in the Eastern Plaguelands.
  • All Indications are that Blizzard still plans to allow all races to be Death Knights, as Worldofwar.net's reporter saw Tauren, Dwarf, Gnome, and Orc Death Knights.
  • You must have an existing character of level 55 or higher to create a Death Knight.
  • You can create one Death Knight per realm per account.
  • You will not need to do any unlocking quests or sacrifice a character before you can create a Death Knight.
  • The Death Knight will start with a wide range of abilities, as it is assumed that someone with a level 55 character has the experience to handle them right off the bat.
  • They will start with a 60% speed summoned Death Charger as a land mount, which be upgradable via quest much like Warlock and Paladin mounts.

Fun Stuff: How to kill a Fel Reaver.. Not ! Date: 08.05.2008 21:10

I've found a funny post on a Forum about a Group who are trying to beat down a Fel Reaver.

This Post shows each Class weakness and of course the typical Situation we all do get everyday when we Group up with someone else. When i read it for the first time I was pretty amused about how the Creator described and expressed the different Tasks and Situations, so I hope you'll get some fun when you read it aswell.

It took some time to add a few different Colors to it, I tried my best to pick the same as they're InGame to make it easier for you to read through all the Parts.

Have you got more of this? If so, send them to me and include your Nickname, Guild and/or Server and I'll mention you in the next Post.

Fel Reaver
