| History |
my online gaming career started in 1998 with counterstrike.
at this time me and all my friends met everyday at a m8 and played that game 1on1 via lan. i was getting addicted to that so i begged my dad to buy me a pc and stuff ^^
in the first months i tried to figure it out how a pc works (of course i killed it a lot of times) then i played a lot of dungeon keeper and i think like everyone else a lot of demos from pc magazines.
then a half year later i had inet running and the first thing i wanted to do was playing cs online but i guess i was a bit noob for setting it up so i tried other games that i had.
the only game what seemed to work was unreal and i decided to play that instead of my beloved camping game. soon i recognized that i was very good and fragged me up to the top of the players.
back to m8s home he was playing a new game called unreal tournament ! i first thought "wtf what a boring shit" (he played instagib) ^^ and i didnt even wanted to try it. but then all others of the unreal scene decided to continue playing the game and so did i.
after i downloaded the demo which took a long time with my wank connection i joined a few servers and played some classic.
i accidently joined a igib server once but it was so much fun that i continued playing instagib only.
one or two weeks later the full game came out. i bought it in a deluxe version which was some kind of a 3d box because the normal edition was sold out.. i payed maybe 10 eur more but anyway i'm happy today to own an original copy of that game in that version. (even both cd's are still working fine) :p
and since that time.. i'm playing ut, active - inactive, tried to stop a few times but honestly this game has become a part of my life. when i look back and see i started at the age of 14 and now i'm almost 22 its very amazing how long you can be loyal to 1 game.
to be continued ... |
